Duration: 20 Weeks
Pay Rate:
- Local: Upto $27.62 per hour
- Travel: Upto $31.00 per hour
Schedule
- Mix of 4 8-hour shifts and 4 12-hour shifts
- 80 hours over two weeks
- Every other weekend required
- Some holiday coverage required
Job Overview
The Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and supportive care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed healthcare provider. This role involves assisting with daily living activities monitoring patient conditions and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pediatric patients with activities of daily living including bathing dressing feeding and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output and report changes to nursing staff
- Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families
- Assist nurses with basic patient care procedures and treatments
- Maintain a clean safe and organized care environment
- Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
- Transport patients specimens and equipment as needed
- Document care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining unit readiness
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support quality patient care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New York preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CNA experience preferably in a pediatric or hospital setting
- Ability to provide compassionate patient-centered care to pediatric patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a healthcare team
- Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and safety protocols
