Job Overview
The Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and supportive care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed healthcare provider. This role involves assisting with daily living activities monitoring patient conditions and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pediatric patients with activities of daily living including bathing dressing feeding and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output and report changes to nursing staff
Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families
Assist nurses with basic patient care procedures and treatments
Maintain a clean safe and organized care environment
Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
Transport patients specimens and equipment as needed
Document care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining unit readiness
Collaborate with the healthcare team to support quality patient care
Qualifications
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New York preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent CNA experience preferably in a pediatric or hospital setting
Ability to provide compassionate patient-centered care to pediatric patients
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a healthcare team
Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and safety protocols
