POSITION SUMMARY

This role willsupporttheconception andmaturationof a variety of quantum products including the developmentand testing ofspecializedprocesses:glasssubstrateprocessing glass and dissimilar material bonding silicon wafer processing and testingthin film characterizationlaserprocessingandelectrical role will include a combination of self-directed and collaborative efforts with a team of physicists engineerstechniciansand business personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developmaterials bonding and fabrication techniques for construction of vacuum cells vapor cells and quantum components

• Collaborate with physicists and optical electrical mechanical and software engineers to define mechanical and optomechanical system requirements

• Produceengineering documentation including technical drawings mechanical assembly packagesworkinstructionsand standard operating procedures

• Supportroot cause analysisor failure modeinvestigations

• Validateprocesses throughdesign of experimentshands-ontestingand statistical analysis

• Other duties or projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors or Mastersdegreeinmechanicalengineeringelectrical engineeringmaterials science ormaterialsengineeringengineering physics or similar

• At least4years of experience in an industry or academic environmentworking on materials processing productdesign productdevelopmentand testing

• Experiencedwith adhesive/epoxyselectionand testing ideallyfor low outgassing applications

• Experiencedwithsomemicroscale and/ornanoscale processing( design and testing wet benchetchingcleaningandprocessing)

• Experienced withseveralmaterialscharacterizationand elemental analysistechniques includinghigh resolution microscopySEM EDS XPS SIMS XRD and X-ray CT scanning

• Experiencedwith laser systemsand laser safetyand ideallyoptics and opto-mechanics

• Experiencedwith vacuum processing and UHVsystems designingand troubleshootingthem(includingheliumleak checkingor bomb testing)

• Proficient withphysical vapor deposition technologies including ion beam and/or magnetron sputtering

• Proficientwith Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/ormulti-physicsmodeling ()

• Proficientwith DOE/SPC/CIP techniques and software such as JMP and/orMiniTab

• ProficientwithSolidworksor similar 3D CAD software includingdrawing tolerancing (GD&T)

• Proficient in MS OfficeandSharePoint

• Good verbal and written communication skills able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff

• Good collaboration skills able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance.

Work will normally be performed in an to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops copiers and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone computer or in-person).Will involve sitting standing walkingliftingand carrying up to25pounds.
