KIPP SoCal is excited to expand our transitional kindergarten (TK) classrooms offerings for the upcoming school year and were looking for applicants who love building lasting relationships with students who enjoy developing fun yet academic early education experiences and who seek growing as an educator and a teammate.3 years experience as a TK teacher is highly preferred.

What Youll Do
Teach the knowledge and skills nurture the confidence and character and inspire the passion needed for our students to achieve their goals live their best lives and positively impact the world
Follow lesson plans or create lesson plans that ensures consistency and optimal learning and that encourages students to actively participate
Value and draw upon students experiences and backgrounds
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students
Develop and administer a variety of assessments to measure students growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards
Analyze informal and formal student assessment results and use this information to drive and inform instruction
Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates families and community members
Implement classroom management techniques to create a nurturing and structured classroom environment and structure
Youll Be Qualified If You Have
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
Effective August 1 2023 and in accordance with Education Code 48000(g) teachers who are first assigned to a transitional kindergarten classroom after July 1 2015 are required to have a valid credential issued by the CTC AND at least one of the following:
At least 24 units in early childhood education or childhood development or both from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Three or more school years of teaching experience (minimum regular schedule of 20 hours per week) in a transitional kindergarten setting preschool age early childhood or childhood development program or a combination of these experiences. Teaching experience can be completed as a Lead Teacher or Instructional Assistant or what the LEA deems equivalent to one of these roles.
A valid Child Development Teacher Permit or higher issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
