OVERVIEW

AtkinsRéalisisseekinganITS/Traffic Engineerto join ourIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)Team. This is anentry-levelposition and isbased out ofJacksonville FL.

YOUR ROLE

• Perform ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments of a varied nature includingwork on projectswith some of the following transportation technology: Connected VehiclesAutonomous and Electric VehiclesIP Cameras and Digital VideoSystems Dynamic Message SignsTrafficDetection Systems Traffic Signals Edge-Computing TechnologyEmergency Vehicle PreemptionTransit Signal Priority AdaptiveTrafficSignal Control Communications Networks andTransportationSafetySolutions.

• Providesupport onTransportation System Management and Operations (TSM&O)initiatives designs anddeployments evaluating innovative infrastructure technology solutions to improve the safety and mobility of Floridaroads.

• Assistin developing technical documents for complex technology-based systems including Systems Engineeringdocumentation(ConOps PSEMP RTVM) technical specifications and more.

• Organize and conduct engineering investigations and planning workon multiple project taskswhich have a well-defined scope.

• Outline and preparetechnicalreportsand contribute content forsections of more complex reports working under the periodic review of amentor ormore experienced professional.

• Review project submittals including conceptual preliminary and final ITS plans. Confirm compliance with state and federal design criteria and standards. Recordreviewcomments and confirm compliance to comments with responses and subsequent submittals.

• Research feasibility of alternative design approaches site conditions and regulatory agency specifications.

• Assistin performing post-design oversight such as shop drawing reviews and construction requests for information.

• Contribute to the development ofprojectspecificationsandrequirements

• Assistwith preparation ofpreliminaryman-hour costand material quantity estimatesfor pilot projects including projects thatleverageemerging technologies.

• Participate in quality control checksmaintainquality standards in all work produced check computations and/or review designs and drawingsproducedby others.

• Contributeexpertisein advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.

• Coordinate with othercolleagues and team members across multiple engineeringdisciplines as.

• Perform field observations of constructionand system integration activities andassistwhereappropriate.

• Perform other dutiesat the request of clients with yoursupervisors knowledge and approval.

ABOUT YOU

• EXPERIENCE:0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.

• EDUCATION:Completion ofBachelors degree in Electrical Computer Science or CivilEngineeringdegreefrom an ABET accredited college/university.

• SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Technical writing computer and communication skills.

• CAD MicroStation and Visio skills preferred.

• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:E.I. or E.I.T preferred but not.
