Summary
The primary responsibility of theDetailTechnicianis to functionas a skilled-leveldetailemployeewhocanperformreconditioningatall role ofDetailTechnicianis to achieveandmaintainahigh-qualityproductin afast-pacedperformance-orientedenvironment.
Role and Responsibilities
Performswork withefficiency and accuracyin accordance withdealership and factory standards.
- Communicates withpartsdepartment to obtain the requiredpartsor accessories to complete the job.
- Examines assigned vehicle(s)todetermineifit has any existing damageor added parts and capture that information on thecustomerdetailchecklist.
- Communicates withthe Detail Managerifadditionalwork isneeded orifreconditioningcannotbe completed within theallottedtime.
- Achieves120% or greater hour efficiency.
- Reconditionvehicles interiors and exteriors in compliancewith all company standards andcustomersrequests.
- Operatesbufferssteamersair hosesvacuumsand other equipment to meet company service expectations.
- Understandcompany needsandcanshift priorities.
- Ensure thecarwash and internal areaismaintainedup to company standards.
- Utilize cleaningprotective andrestorative agents to enhance andmaintainvehicleappearance in compliance withthe companyandOSHAregulations.
- Maneuveringvehicles on and off company premises todifferent locationsindependently or with customers.
- Manageinventory and reordering supplieson an as needed basis.
- Ability toworkindependentlyand within a team environment.
- Properly disposeof used parts and return unused parts to the parts counterperson
- Comply withall company policies and uphold standards for service quality.
- Participates incompanytrainingprograms schools and events.
- Refuel new or used vehicles when needed and approved by a manager.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to theDetail Manager.
- Ensures that customers cars are kept clean. Notifiesamanagerimmediatelyof anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition ofavehicle.
- No unnecessary use ofcustomer vehicles or reckless driving.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools andproperty. Returns them to the properlocationand in the same condition as they were received.
- Understands keeps abreast of andcomplies withfederal state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Reports any safety issuesimmediatelyto management.
- Maintainsasafeand cleanwork environment
- Other duties as needed

- Moving about the dealership to complete autodetailing
- Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
- Using computer to look up information
- Standingor walkingfor 6 to 8 hours in a shift
- Bending stretching lifting reaching and climbing
- Utilizing physical and manual dexterity
- Lifting upto50lbs.
Qualification and education requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
