Position Details
The Department of History Geography and Legal Studiesin the College of Social Sciences Math and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors to teach undergraduate courses in Legal Studies. The Universitys Legal Studies program is a vibrant and growing program offering a minor in Law Justice and Advocacy. The program has over 200 undergraduates enrolled as minors and it attracts many non-minor students to its classes as well. We are looking for instructors eager to work with an undergraduate student population that includes both those students who are contemplating attending law school and those who are simply exploring the legal field out of academic interest.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Creating a syllabus and other course related materials.
2. Teaching in-person course(s) according to departmental guidelines.
3. Providing time outside of class to meet with students.
4. Completing course grading and submitting final grades in the on-line system.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Required: Juris Doctor (JD)
2. Preferred: Teaching experience especially college-level teaching experience
We are especially interested in candidates who can teach courses during normal working hours (9 am to 5 pm during the week). If you can do so please state this in your cover letter.
