The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for counterparty credit analysis exposure monitoring credit limit recommendations and credit risk mitigation within a wholesale commodity trading and marketing environment. This role supports short- mid- and long-term commercial strategies by ensuring effective credit risk management and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform credit analysis of new and existing counterparties including financial statement review and ratio analysis.
Recommend and approve credit limits within Delegation of Authority (DOA).
Monitor counterparty exposure using real-time credit risk management systems.
Manage credit support instruments (Letters of Credit guarantees collateral).
Review analyze and approve counterparty contracts and amendments.
Conduct financial modeling to determine appropriate credit structures.
Manage credit settings on electronic trading platforms (e.g. ICE).
Prepare and distribute credit exposure and portfolio risk reports.
Partner with Commercial Legal Accounting Risk and Structuring teams to support business objectives.
Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and risk frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Economics or Business.
Minimum 7 years of Finance Accounting or Credit Analysis experience.
10 years of Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
Experience in commodity trading wholesale marketing or energy trading environments.
Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment exposure management and collateral processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
Experience with electronic trading platforms (ICE preferred).
Excellent analytical communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Willingness to work extended hours as business needs require.
