About the Role

We are seeking a Farm Activities Coordinator to support a unique mission-driven program that combines hands-on farm work with meaningful engagement for adults with developmental disabilities. This role blends agriculture animal care and activity leadership creating a dynamic and rewarding work environment year-round.

From April through October the role is primarily focused on vegetable/plant farming and outdoor work. During the winter months the focus shifts toward structured activity-based programming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with vegetable farming operations including planting weeding harvesting and general crop care
  • Support the care and well-being of small to medium farm animals (e.g. goats chickens pigs rabbits guinea pigs)
  • Help create and lead engaging activities and programming tailored to individuals interests and abilities
  • Foster a safe inclusive and person-centered environment that supports individual goals and dignity
  • Assist with maintaining farm grounds supplies and activity materials
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure high-quality programming and care

Compensation & Benefits

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working with plants specifically vegetables/crop production
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (seasonally)
  • Reliable consistent and able to commit year-round (including winter months)
  • Valid drivers license (MA NH RI) and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with small or mixed livestock (goats chickens pigs rabbits etc.)
  • Experience leading activities groups or programming
  • Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
