ProspectBlue is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a boutique law practice on a part-time contractor basis. This is a flexible primarily remote role ideal for a seasoned professional looking for light variable hours and long-term project-based work.
Position Overview
This role will support an attorney handling complex litigation matters primarily in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia with cases in Richmond and Alexandria. While the position is remote occasional in-person assistance may be required so the candidate needs to reside in Central Virginia or Northern Virginia.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with litigation support in federal court matters including case management and document handling
Help address and organize a backlog of billing and administrative items
Support discovery filings and general litigation tasks as needed
Be available on an on-call basis for time-sensitive assignments
Provide occasional in-person support in court jurisdictions if required
Qualifications
Prior experience as a litigation paralegal (required)
Familiarity with federal court procedures preferably in the Eastern District of Virginia
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and respond to ad hoc requests
Based in Central Virginia or Northern Virginia with flexibility for occasional travel
Work Arrangement
Hours: Approximately 520 hours per week (variable based on workload)
Location: Remote with occasional in-person needs in EDVA court locations (TBD)
Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
