Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferably in an educational setting.
Must be qualified with a minimum of 2 years of college or have passed or be willing to prepare for the Para Pro Test.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To assist teachers by working with individual students or small groups to offer academic support as needed.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students their needs interests and abilities.
Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
Guides independent study enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills assemblies field trips or other school activities.
Assists with group activities such as drill work and reading.
Checks and monitors student work and supervises testing and make-up work as assigned by the teacher.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by teachers and/or the building principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract.
