We are seeking a motivated detail-oriented Federal Capture & Proposal Analyst Intern to support our federal business development and proposal efforts. This internship is designed for a college student or recent graduate who is interested in government contracting business development strategic communications and proposal development.
The intern will assist with opportunity research sources sought and market research support capture organization and proposal coordination. This role offers hands-on exposure to how firms pursue federal work and how pre-solicitation and proposal responses are developed.
This is a hands on learning opportunity for the right self-motivated individual to build practical skills in research writing coordination and federal pursuit support.
What Youll Learn
Through this internship you will gain exposure to:
- Federal opportunity tracking and market research
- Sources sought notices RFIs and RFP response support
- Proposal organization compliance tracking and document development
- Business development processes in the federal market
- Professional writing editing and coordination in a deadline-driven environment
- Collaboration with leadership and technical staff on growth pursuits
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tracking federal opportunities including sources sought notices RFIs and RFPs
- Support research on agencies contract vehicles and procurement trends
- Help draft and edit capability summaries sources sought inputs and other pursuit materials
- Organize proposal files resumes project sheets and past performance information
- Support development of compliance checklists outlines and submission trackers
- Assist with proofreading formatting and assembling proposal documents
- Attend capture and proposal meetings and document action items
- Help maintain internal content libraries and templates
- Perform other related business development and proposal support tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student or recent graduate in English Communications Business Marketing Political Science Public Policy Journalism Engineering Management Construction Management or a related field
- Strong writing editing and proofreading skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Interest in federal contracting public sector work business development or proposal management
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship campus leadership or project experience involving research writing communications or coordination
- Interest in the AEC engineering environmental construction or professional services sectors
- Familiarity with government policy procurement or public sector topics
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat SharePoint or document organization tools
Internship Details
Location: Remote with preference given to individuals who are available for occasional commutes to Washington D.C. and able to travel to government contracting related conferences.
Schedule: Part Time
Duration: 12 weeks with potential to extend
