We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. This role will involve creating in-depth analyses developing data-driven solutions and building interactive tools to support data-informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis machine learning statistical modeling and data visualization along with a passion for leveraging data to improve public health outcomes and operational efficiency.

Job Description:

The Data Scientist plays a key role in delivering actionable insights by leveraging advanced analytics statistical techniques and machine learning methodologies. This position supports stakeholders by transforming complex data into meaningful insights that drive decisions impacting public health and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior data scientists and team members
Develop and support internal web applications and interactive tools using frameworks such as Shiny Dash Flask or Streamlit
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions
Analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify trends patterns and insights
Design build and optimize data models ETL pipelines and database structures
Develop prototypes and scalable data solutions to meet business needs
Apply statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms (regression clustering decision trees neural networks etc.)
Ensure data quality through cleansing transformation and validation processes
Create dashboards and visualizations for diverse audiences
Maintain and manage code repositories using GitHub or similar tools
Document technical specifications and communicate findings effectively
Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing data solutions
Conduct training sessions and educate end users on data interpretation

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Analytics Statistics Computer Science Mathematics or related field with 2 years of experience OR Masters degree in a related field OR 4 years of relevant experience
Strong programming skills in Python R and SQL
Experience with data manipulation cleansing and transformation
Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques
Strong understanding of relational and dimensional database concepts
Experience building data applications and dashboards
Proficiency with frameworks like Shiny Dash Flask or Streamlit
Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with geospatial data and geocoding
Familiarity with tools such as Docker Kubernetes or Neo4j
Experience conducting workshops or training sessions
Strong data visualization and storytelling skills
