Were seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Materials to lead and elevate the materials function at our Decatur manufacturing this high-impact role youll drive operational excellence optimize inventory performance and build a culture of continuous improvement across a multi-shift team.If youre passionate about supply chain transformation data-driven decision-making and leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment this is an opportunity to make a measurable difference.

- Lead and develop a high-performing Materials Management team across multiple shifts
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service cost and inventory performance
- Partner with Product Management and Sales to align inventory strategies with business goals
- Optimize inventory levels improve turns and reduce working capital through strategic planning
- Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across materials processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations ERP and Lean teams to improve accuracy and flow
- Oversee inventory controls including ABC classification safety stock and EOQ modeling
- Lead inventory reduction initiatives and ongoing working capital reviews
- Champion best practices and share learnings across the broader organization
- Ensure compliance with systems tools and reporting requirements
What Youll Bring to Our Team
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in business supply chain engineering or other relevant fields.
- 10 years experience working within a manufacturing environment including prior experience leading work teams.
Preferred:
- 5 years materials management experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven systems experience and capabilities including MRP/ERP systems and MS Word/Excel
- Strong planning and forecasting abilities including experience with production control master scheduling and Lean initiatives.
- Skilled in systematic problem-solving and data analysis.
- Drive factory flow initiatives removing waste from the production line and reducing total cost/unit
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills able to influence cross-functional teams.
- Proven change management experience and successful implementation of new processes.
- Knowledge and application of WCM(World Class Manufacturing) LCS (Logistics & Customer Service) methodology a plus
- Customer-focused energetic and proactive in addressing issues.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Experience in supplier management and project execution.
- Up to date with technology and developments in supply chain management.
APICS and Six Sigma certifications are preferred.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
