Our client is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to join a team focused on digital sales equipment for the Retail Point of Sale.

The goal is to provide customers with an emotional and exciting retail experience through brand-adequate innovative product visualization.

You will be responsible for implementing pixel-perfect UI designs and reusable logic to ensure a polished front-end behavior that distinguishes the Group as a leader in innovation.

Position Details

• Contract Duration: 01 June 2026 31 December 2028.
• Location: Hybrid Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office rotation.
• Experience Required: More than 5 years in software development.

Qualifications & Experience

• More than 5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proven experience in Web and Digital projects.
• Extensive experience working within Agile methodologies.

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Frontend Technologies:
• JavaScript
• AngularJS
• Angular 2
• TypeScript
• HTML 5
• CSS(SCSS)
• AJAX & REST
• API
• JSON & XML
• Javascript knowledge and programming experience with ES5/ES6

Advantageous Skills:

• Azure AWS or Openshift
• At least one Relational Database experience (POSTGRES SQL)
• At least one Document Database experience (MONGO ELASTIC)
• Mobile Development Experience
• Micro Service Development

Key Responsibilities

• Develop systems solutions in line with quality and delivery requirements
• Ensure that all processes are investigated/considered in obtaining the specifications of the user requirements
• Propose and review system design and evaluate alternatives
• Review and present proposed system solution to IT Project Manager / Leader and User Management or System owner
• Ensure that the following steps in the Development Cycle are executed:
• Preparation of system/technical documentation (as per ISO standards)
• Preparation of user and operation manual
• User training
• System testing/parallel runs
• System implementation
• System audits/quality assurance
• Implement pixel perfect UI designs
• Implement re-usable HTML and JS logic
• Ensure all code is readable extendable and scalable
• Ensure that stylesheets are maintained and adapted where necessary
• Ensure that all implementations can be passed over to other developers mid development with minimum of handover
• Polished frontend behaviour to ensure a great user experience
