TheMaxwell Underground Mine owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life the underground mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Training Superintendent to join our team and contribute to our ongoing growth. Reporting to the Operations Manager Woodlands Hill this role is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining a comprehensive Order 34-compliant training program covering all aspects of training and competency management.

Additionally the successful candidate will collaborate with the Management Team to design and deliver end-to-end training processes support the onboarding experience and assist in implementing effective training systems.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Establish and oversee the implementation of the training competency management scheme.
  • Develop internal training packages to industry standards.
  • Facilitate the delivery of training and assessments in classroom field based and online environments.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance on training competency and authorisation processes.
  • Coach and mentor workplace trainer and assessors.
  • Coordinate training needs analysis for all employees.
  • Collate and analyse training data to maintain compliance with skills matrix and training needs analysis and prepare monthly performance reports.
  • Assist in the development of a safety culture that supports the Maxwell Undergrounds values.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role the applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE 40116 or newer.
  • Prior experience in an operational or training role in an underground mining environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the administration of Workforce Management System particularly role and competency management and reporting.
  • Experience in developing training packages and assessment material.
  • Thorough understanding of NSW statutory obligations relevant to training and competency.
  • Contractor management skills
  • Proficiency in the application of Microsoft Excel and Word software
  • Sound report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
  • Excellence time management and prioritisation skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
