Purpose of Role:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent casting quality by applying robust Quality Assurance practices technical expertise and structured problemsolving methods across foundry operations. The role focuses on preventing defects reducing scrap and rework and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 compliance through datadriven quality tools and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Quality Assurance: Develop implement and maintain Quality Assurance systems to ensure consistent compliance with customer and foundry process requirements. Monitor and report compliance to QAPs and SOPs with focus on process improvement to prevent errors. Monitor and control critical foundry processes to ensure process capability and stability. Establish and maintain inspection plans quality checkpoints across production stages. Ensure compliance with casting specifications drawings standards and metallurgical requirements.

Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Lead and facilitate problemsolving activities for internal and customer implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions for internal and customer complaints. Perform root cause analysis for systemic process defects and implement immediate containment actions.

ISO 9001:2015 Implementation & Maintenance: Implement maintain and continually improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System within the foundry. Develop and update SOPs and process documentation. Manage the internal audit program and ensure timely implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.

Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection results including measurements concessions and corrective actions traceability and proper documentation of castings.

Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement improvements.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Strategy: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap rework and customer complaints using quality tools. Analyse quality performance data and recommend process improvements and costofquality reduction actions. Participate in Lean activities like Kaizens and Mastering Systems. Support new product development and OTSR/FAI process and submissions.

Compliance: Adhere to all safety and quality standards including ISO and other relevant regulations.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree/Diploma (Mechanical Metallurgical Manufacturing) or Qualified Artisan (Pattern Maker or Moulder) additional technical training or certification/degree in Quality Management will be an advantage.

Proven experience as a Quality Engineer preferably in a foundry or manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Tools & Methodologies.

ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification (minimum expectation or to be obtained within first year).

Minimum 5 years Foundry & Quality Manufacturing Knowledge.

Minimum 2 years experience in project management and part industrialisation.

Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.

Strong understanding of foundry practices including moulding and casting processes and defect mechanisms.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Also sound dimensional inspection methods and gauges skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and SAP will be an advantage.

Understanding of document control record retention and traceability requirements.

Excellent attention to detail problemsolving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork collaboration abilities.
