As the Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer at GE Aerospace you will be the site technical expert on EHS issues providing input to site EHS/Facilities Business Leader and management. To initiate and influence EHS culture improvement and work as a team to integrate related EHS policy & practices into the business. He/she will work closely with his/her department and the operation team in risk controls training audit and incident/accident investigation. He / she will provide guidance to the rest of the team members.Job Description

Role Overview:
- Across the site through regular tours genba and networking to embed processes and requirements to identify potential hazards risk assess and reduce risks together with colleagues across the site
- Responsible for managing EHS programs and proactively driving continuous improvement.
- Maintain and drive compliance with local environmental health and safety regulations. Develop and sustain systems to ensure continuous compliance with all permits.
- Ensure all GE Aerospace required tools programs and management systems are properly implemented and that EHS work plans/documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date.
- Foster a safety-oriented culture among leaders colleagues and contractors to encourage reporting of EHS concerns and implement initiatives to continuously improve safety standards and culture
- Organise and facilitate the EHS training programs for employees contractors and other stakeholders to truly embed knowledge and understanding
- Lead EHS incidents or near-misses to document findings identify root causes and implement corrective / preventive measures meeting GE Aerospace and local requirements
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal candidate has EHS experiences in a production setting and is a registered WSHO and FSM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Science with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience or Diploma in Engineering / Science with minimum 10 years of relevant working experience.
- Must be a registered WSHO and FSM.
- Experience in working in a manufacturing site is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Skills:Strong technical knowledge of EHS principles regulations and standards.
- Ability to identify and solve complex EHS problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
- Ability to lead and motivate others in EHS initiatives.
- Understanding of relevant environmental health and safety regulations.
