We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director BCO.
Role Purpose
Credit & Capital Management (CCM) team under CIB are implementing a new modern and consistent E2E operating model of which a key component is the introduction of a first line credit management office (the Business Credit Office.) The BCO function will complete tasks including structuring credit analysis and rating recommendation client credit monitoring tasks credit terms and docs negotiation with WCMR and clients acting as a single handoff from a RM to the BCO for all CCM tasks creating a single control point.
The Associate Director BCO will be responsible for ensuring exemplary risk management acumen and control standards are embedded within the end-to-end CCM discharging their duties the role holder must implement a common reliable and predictable underwriting and lending process that protects the business from exposure whilst responding to clients borrowing needs. The role holder will report directly to the Country/Market Head of BCO/Head of BCO offshore and will work closely with the Coverage and Transaction Support teams to ensure seamless customer experience and consistency of service globally.
The role holder must be a strategic thinker with an innovation driven mindset an effective collaborator and skilled stakeholder manager successfully navigating complex landscape to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.
In this role you will
- Lead and manage the end-to-end CCM journey ensuring a seamless and efficient process for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Closely work with BCO Regional Heads WMR and other key stakeholders where necessary in order to ensure successful completion of key Optimization and Transformation initiatives.
- Continuously drive improvement in productivity of the BCO team whilst enhancing client experience.
- Drive adoption of technology/digital and customer experience improvement initiatives including alignment to a globally consistent C&L operating model.
- Monitor and analyze customer and stakeholder feedback identifying key areas of focus to improve customer outcomes.
- Closely work with the senior management team and Regional Sustainability Champions to drive various activities as part of the Groups transition to Net Zero along with implementing various strategic initiatives across BCO teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across credit analysis activities to deliver a high and consistent standard.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the teams including credibility with both Business and Risk teams.
- Develop and maintain a diverse innovation-driven BCO team ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
- Participate in deal discussions and meetings with clients or credit risk as required.
- Protect the Bank by acting as First Line of Defense and observing all controls.
- Identifies and anticipates all types of risks (e.g. industry portfolio diversification sovereign commercial currency etc.)and identify micro and macro trends impacting the credit portfolio working with WCRM and business heads to take appropriate steps in changes to underwriting criteria and conducting rapid portfolio reviews.
- Demonstrates ability to engage in constructive and consistent dialogue with risk partners in a manner that effectively balances commercial outcomes and risk management.
To be successful you will need
Knowledge and Experience
- Chartered Accountants / masters in business Finance Economics or equivalent. If none tenured experiences in credit analysis and/or credit approvals will be considered.
- Knowledge of Investment Banking is mandatory such as Securities Treasury Foreign Exchange Derivatives ESG and Climate risk.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills commercial mindset with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
- Experience in working in an offshore organization and demonstrable ability to navigate and influence a diverse set of senior stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English proficient in credit writing in English hard-working organized diligent and above all a good team player.
