About the Program The Finalyst Program (TFP)
TheThermo Fisher Scientific 24-Month Finalyst Program (TFP)is designed to develop the next generation of Finance professionals who are passionate about contributing to the advancement of science.
When you join Thermo Fisher Scientific you will do important work. Supported by collaborative colleagues and backed by a global industry leader you will gain exposure to real business challenges build critical skills and contribute directly to our success.
Over this24-month fixed-term program trainees will undergo a structured series of rotations across Finance functions. Talents are carefully selected consciously mapped and placed into roles such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Accounting Operations Finance or other specialized Finance teams performing real work that impacts our business.
Program Structure & Rotations
Participants will complete2 structured rotationsacross key Finance areas. Example rotation placements include:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Commercial Finance
- Operations / Manufacturing Finance
- Accounting & Controllership
- Tax or Treasury
- Internal Audit or Compliance Finance
The program integrates:
- On-the-job trainingwith hands-on business experience
- Mentorshipfrom senior Finance leaders
- Networking opportunitieswith peers managers and global Finance professionals
- Performance coaching and career guidancethroughout the program
Upon successful completion trainees may be considered for full-time opportunities within Thermo Fishers global Finance organization subject to business needs and individual performance.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on rotation placement responsibilities may include:
- Conducting financial analysis to support business decisions
- Preparing management reports and dashboards
- Supporting budgeting forecasting and long-range planning cycles
- Performing data modelling and scenario analysis
- Assisting with monthly quarterly and year-end close activities
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information
- Participating in process improvement and automation projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive business performance
Candidate Profile / Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree inAccounting Finance Economics Business or related field
- Open tofresh graduatesor candidates with up to2 years of relevant experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical problem-solving and quantitative skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency inMicrosoft 365(Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
- Exposure toSQL Power BI or other data visualization/analytics toolsis strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic metrics-driven environment
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Adaptability curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
