In partnership with our client we are seeking a Community Manager to build and own the community engine behind one of Africas fastest-growing tech-mobility platforms. This is not a maintenance role. You will be the architect of rider communities launching them from scratch programming the experiences that keep members engaged and turning everyday commuters into passionate brand advocates.
In this role you will sit at the intersection of Marketing Product and Partnerships shaping how the brand builds belonging across digital channels and physical spaces. If you are a culturally fluent community builder who knows how to turn shared interests into thriving communities events into memories and members into movement we want to meet you.
Who are we looking for
- You are a community management professional with 2 to 4 years of experience in community building social media or growth marketing.
- You have a proven track record of launching or scaling online communities with a bonus if that experience lives in lifestyle sports fashion or creator spaces.
- You are a strong communicator who can write a WhatsApp broadcast people actually read and a Discord post that actually sparks conversation.
- You are organised and execution-focused with hands-on experience planning physical events and activations from concept to delivery.
- You are data-driven and know how to track what good looks like from engagement rates to retention numbers.
- You are deeply plugged into Nigerian youth culture and understand the nuances of the communities you will be serving.
- You are a natural connector able to identify the right people partners and moments to add genuine value to community members.
Your Responsibilities
Community Launch and Growth
- You will launch and grow 5 to 10 interest-based communities across digital channels and physical touchpoints each with a distinct identity and purpose.
- You will recruit and manage community leads spotting passionate members and empowering them to champion their sub-communities.
- You will track and report on key metrics including member growth engagement rate event attendance and retention.
Content and Conversation
- You will curate content and conversations that reflect each communitys unique identity from sports events to creator spotlights.
- You will ensure that every touchpoint a post a broadcast a thread feels intentional relevant and true to the community it serves.
Events and Activations
- You will plan and execute community events both online and offline including meetups pop-ups and brand activations that bring members together in meaningful ways.
Partnerships and Collaboration
- You will identify and secure brand and creator partnerships that add genuine value to community members not just logo placements.
- You will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Product and Partnerships to ensure community programming aligns with broader business goals.
What Success looks like
- Achieving 50% community growth while maintaining an 85% engagement rate across active communities.
- Consistently hitting 85% event attendance and a 95% member retention rate.
- Securing 3 or more brand partnerships per community that members genuinely value.
- Building a partner ecosystem that delivers sustained compounding value over time.
To be considered for this role you should have
- 2 to 4 years of experience in community management social media or growth marketing.
- A proven record of building or scaling communities ideally in lifestyle sports fashion or creator spaces.
- Experience organising physical events or activations at small to mid-scale.
- Comfort with community platforms including WhatsApp Discord and Telegram.
- A genuine passion for and existing network within Nigerian or African communities.
