Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or a related discipline. Completed CAANZ or CPA professional accreditation.
Experience Minimum of 9 years experiences in a management role working in a public practice along with a working understanding of:
Microsoft Applications (Intermediate Level).
Strong foundational knowledge of the Corporations Act accounting standards (AASBs) company secretarial requirements (including lodgements fees and general obligations) taxation legislation and the services offered by the firm.
Solid working knowledge of a range of accounting software platforms including but not limited to Xero MYOB and QuickBooks.
Strong foundational knowledge of technical accounting concepts including but not limited to journal entries accruals reconciliations depreciation inter-entity transactions and the preparation and analysis of financial statements across various entity types with a focus on accuracy compliance and support for advisory outcomes.

Position Purpose
The BAS Manager supports the Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team while managing a portfolio of Moore Australia clients. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery maintaining client satisfaction and meeting team productivity and budget targets particularly in the Directors absence.
Beyond client delivery the Manager plays a key role in driving process improvements supporting business development initiatives and developing team capability. The role requires strong leadership sound judgement and the ability to resolve client issues effectively while fostering a collaborative high-performing team environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Accounting
Prepare and review financial reports using Xero MYOB and Reckon APS.
Interpret and assess financial data from MYOB and Xero files from the team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare complex financial reports and reconciliations as required.
Oversee asset register maintenance including the preparation of hire purchase (HP) schedules and related reconciliations.
Taxation
Prepare and review complex BAS and FBT returns.
Oversee the preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals companies trusts and partnerships.
Calculate and reconcile Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation Insurance obligations.
Prepare and lodge SGC Statements.
Lead the development of tax planning strategies and prepare supporting documentation for client meetings.
Conduct tax research to address complex client queries and provide insights to Directors and clients.
Apply in-depth knowledge of ATO correspondence and procedures including assessments objections and compliance resolutions.
Management Reporting and Budgets
Preparation of management accounts cash flow reports and annual financial reports across various entity structures and industries.
Preparation and analyses of complex management reports for clients (i.e. cash flow reports budget etc.)
Preparation and review of work papers analyses client data and transactions and sets up accounts onto the accounting package in accordance with present standards.
Preparation of invoices at the end of an engagement.
Preparation and analyses standard management reports for clients (i.e. cash flow reports budgets etc.).
Prepare and finalise client invoices at the completion of engagements.
Team Management
Coach mentor and develop team members including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
Conduct performance reviews and manage under performance with the assistance of the HR Representative.
Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall firms and that emphasises the identified mission vision and values of the firm.
Lead members to meet the firms expectations for productivity quality continuous improvement and goal accomplishment.
Maintain the members work schedules including assignments job rotation training annual leave telecommuting cover for absenteeism and overtime scheduling.
Escalate any staffing issues appropriately to the People & Culture Representative and respective Director.
The employee may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of the classification and within the limits of their skill competence and training.
