KREASI Communication & Media Specialist
ROLE PURPOSE
The KREASI Communication & Media Specialist supports the development and implementation of KREASIs communication and media activities by producing high-quality communication content managing editorial processes and ensuring consistent messaging across communication platforms and products.
Based at the national level the role contributes to strengthening the visibility credibility and accessibility of KREASIs programme approaches results and learning. The Specialist is responsible for producing written communication materials documenting programme implementation and lessons from the field and supporting communication outputs such as articles photo stories newsletters bulletins and knowledge products.
Working under the supervision of the Communication & Media Manager the Specialist collaborates closely with the Outreach Specialist and Visual Communication Specialist to ensure communication products are clear engaging and aligned with KREASIs strategic narrative on foundational skills inclusive education gender equality child protection and climate-responsive education.
The role also supports preparation of communication materials used for media engagement campaigns and programme events ensuring content accuracy strong storytelling and alignment with programme priorities.
KEY AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Content Development and Editorial Production
- Develop and produce written communication materials that highlight KREASIs programme activities learning and impact.
- Write and edit articles feature stories programme updates and photo stories for KREASI communication platforms.
- Ensure strong editorial quality across communication materials including clarity accuracy and consistency in messaging.
- Translate technical programme information into accessible and engaging communication content for diverse audiences.
- Maintain strong editorial standards for written communication in both Bahasa Indonesia and English where required.
Website and Publication Management
- Manage and update KREASI website content to ensure information is current accurate and aligned with programme messaging.
- Coordinate publication of articles stories and programme updates on the website and communication platforms.
- Support the production of recurring communication products such as monthly newsletter.
- Maintain an organized archive of communication products and published materials.
Programme Documentation and Storytelling
- Work closely with programme and provincial teams to identify stories of change implementation experiences and promising practices from the field.
- Support documentation of programme learning innovations and lessons that can inform education policy and programme replication.
- Develop photo stories case studies and feature articles that showcase the human impact of KREASI activities.
- Ensure documentation reflects inclusive perspectives and respects child safeguarding and ethical storytelling principles.
Media Content Support
- Prepare written materials used in media engagement including press releases key messages background notes and briefing materials.
- Provide editorial support for communication materials used in campaigns and media outreach.
- Work closely with the Outreach Specialist to ensure media materials are accurate and aligned with programme messaging.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Communication & Media Manager to ensure editorial outputs align with KREASIs strategic communication objectives.
- Coordinate with the Outreach Specialist to adapt written content for social media and digital dissemination.
- Collaborate with programme teams and implementing partners to gather information data and stories from programme activities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with provincial teams to ensure consistent documentation of programme implementation.
Monitoring and Learning
- Maintain documentation of communication outputs including articles publications and knowledge products.
- Support monitoring of communication performance across platforms and products.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen storytelling and communication approaches.
- Contribute to internal learning within the communication team by documenting communication practices and lessons learned.
Compliance Safeguarding and Ethical Communication
- Ensure all communication materials comply with KREASI safeguarding standards and ethical storytelling principles.
- Protect the dignity privacy and safety of children and communities represented in communication materials.
- Ensure informed consent and responsible representation in all stories images and content.
General
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the KREASI Communication & Media Manager.
- Ensure adherence to KREASI policies and standards on safeguarding inclusion ethics and responsible communication.
- Support communication activities during programme events campaigns and strategic communication moments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
Bachelors degree in communications journalism media studies social sciences education or a related field with at least 35 years of relevant professional experience in communication journalism or content development.
Demonstrated experience in writing editing and producing high-quality content for websites publications or digital platforms.
Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex programme information into engaging narratives.
Experience producing communication materials such as articles newsletters reports or feature stories.
Familiarity with education social development or NGO programmes is an advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Experience working with content management systems (CMS) or digital publishing platforms is preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Basic photography or video documentation skills are an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and online collaboration tools (e.g. Teams).
