We are seeking a dedicated and emotionally intelligent Pastoral Manager to join a forward-thinking school in Lambeth. Core Responsibilities
Student Advocacy: Managing the day-to-day pastoral care for a specific year group or cohort acting as the first point of contact for students facing social emotional or behavioural challenges.
Behaviour for Learning: Implementing the schools behaviour policy with consistency and empathy conducting restorative justice meetings and developing individualised Behaviour Support Plans.
Safeguarding Vigilance: Working as a key member of the safeguarding team identifying at-risk students and maintaining meticulous records on systems like CPOMS or MyConcern.
Multi-Agency Liaison: Coordinating with external partners including Social Research CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and the Youth Offending Service to ensure a 360-degree support network.
Parental Engagement: Building strong trusting relationships with families conducting home visits where necessary and leading Parent Workshops on topics such as online safety and mental health.
Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate de-escalation and support during point of crisis moments helping students regulate their emotions and return to learning.

Candidate Profile
Experience: Proven experience working with young people in a pastoral social work or youth-mentoring capacityideally within an urban secondary school setting.
Skills: Exceptional de-escalation skills a deep understanding of the challenges facing urban youth and the ability to remain calm and objective in high-pressure situations.
Communication: An articulate and empathetic communicator who can speak with authority to external professionals and with warmth to students and parents.
Character: A resilient non-judgmental and proactive individual who possesses a thick skin and a genuine heart for the wellbeing of young people.
