Job Summary
QMC campus is both beautiful and vibrant its a rewarding setting to work in alongside a great group of staff students governors and volunteers. The HR team is an integral part of North Hampshire Education Alliance and operates from within Queen Marys College.
The HR Assistants will be an asset to the Human Resources team is through offering high-quality administrative support and providing people centred HR advice to all employees. Thus contributing to the Trusts aim of inclusivity excellence on your doorstep. The HR Assistant will have a significant role in ensuring an overall high-quality employee experience.
Whilst the role is varied and interesting it is set in the backdrop of employment law compliance and the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance so a strong eye for detail and interest in adhering to law and policy is an advantage.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Accountable to: Director of HR & DSL
Key Purposes
To support the role of HR to raise the quality of the employee experience
To assist administrative activities within the HR team.
To prepare internal job packs for recruitment
To assist with administration for DBS pre-employment checks
To be responsible for the maintenance of HR filing
To update the HR system
To assist with Payroll administration
An understanding and application of legal principles in the workplace for e.g. ED&I H&S and GDPR
All staff are committed to the principles of promoting Safeguarding Child Protection and Prevent for young people
To support on Open Evenings and other marketing and promotional activities when required and as appropriate
All other related duties commensurate with the role.

To support HR to ensure staff are recruited and retained through enhancing their employment journey.

The successful candidate will be able to give a clear demonstration of the following requirements:

The following requirements are desirable:
Previous experience of working in HR recruitment or compliance
Previous experience of working in an admin role
Strong IT Systems and IT skills
Contract:- Initially casual with possibility of a 6 month 12 month fixed-term contract from September 2026.
Hours:- 5 hours per week term time
