We are searching for the best talent to join us as a Senior Microbiology Technician Quality Control in Blackpool United Kingdom.

As part of the Quality Team this role offers a unique opportunity to work within a small laboratory environment at a global leader in the healthcare industry. It provides you with exposure to a broad scope of microbiological testing enabling development of strong industrial microbiology skills and a deeper understanding of the role of QC microbiology laboratories within the medical devices sector. You will be trained across a variety of test methods and supported in continuous professional development throughout their employment.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing microbiological testing including bioburden sterility endotoxin antibiotic potency and environmental monitoring.

• Ensuring microbiological testing is completed accurately on time and to defined quality standards.

• Applying cGMP principles and ensuring documentation complies with ISO 9000 ISO 13485 FDA QSRs and Medical Device Regulations.

• Supporting laboratory investigations including nonconformances and OOS excursions.

• Performing enumeration and identification of microbiological contaminants.

• Managing laboratory consumables materials and timely ordering to prevent testing delays.

• Executing autoclaving activities and the laboratory cleaning programme.

• Reviewing sterilisation documentation and supporting GMP documentation and Quality Systems.

• Supporting validation of microbiology test methods equipment and sterility assurance processes.

• Assisting with documentation updates crossfunctional communication and training of laboratory staff.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a laboratory setting (practical experience gained through a degree is also acceptable).

• A university degree in a relevant field or minimum ALevel (or recognised international equivalent) qualification in Science or Mathematics in combination with the relevant experience.

• Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques within a regulated laboratory environment.

• Understanding of cGMP principles and quality system requirements.

• Experience supporting laboratory investigations deviations or OOS activities.

• Ability to accurately follow procedures and maintain high documentation standards.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.

• Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint).

• High standards of integrity customer focus adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
