We are searching for the best talent to join us as a Senior Microbiology Technician Quality Control in Blackpool United Kingdom.
As part of the Quality Team this role offers a unique opportunity to work within a small laboratory environment at a global leader in the healthcare industry. It provides you with exposure to a broad scope of microbiological testing enabling development of strong industrial microbiology skills and a deeper understanding of the role of QC microbiology laboratories within the medical devices sector. You will be trained across a variety of test methods and supported in continuous professional development throughout their employment.
You will be responsible for:
Performing microbiological testing including bioburden sterility endotoxin antibiotic potency and environmental monitoring.
Ensuring microbiological testing is completed accurately on time and to defined quality standards.
Applying cGMP principles and ensuring documentation complies with ISO 9000 ISO 13485 FDA QSRs and Medical Device Regulations.
Supporting laboratory investigations including nonconformances and OOS excursions.
Performing enumeration and identification of microbiological contaminants.
Managing laboratory consumables materials and timely ordering to prevent testing delays.
Executing autoclaving activities and the laboratory cleaning programme.
Reviewing sterilisation documentation and supporting GMP documentation and Quality Systems.
Supporting validation of microbiology test methods equipment and sterility assurance processes.
Assisting with documentation updates crossfunctional communication and training of laboratory staff.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience in a laboratory setting (practical experience gained through a degree is also acceptable).
A university degree in a relevant field or minimum ALevel (or recognised international equivalent) qualification in Science or Mathematics in combination with the relevant experience.
Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques within a regulated laboratory environment.
Understanding of cGMP principles and quality system requirements.
Experience supporting laboratory investigations deviations or OOS activities.
Ability to accurately follow procedures and maintain high documentation standards.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint).
High standards of integrity customer focus adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
