The team
The Procurement function in Flutteris responsible forthe governance ofexternal third-partysupplierspend ofover$5bn per annumacross the various business units.Businessunit Ownersaresupported globallyin the management of this spendby Sourcing teamsbased in each of the four business unitsand bywiderProcurement Servicesteams(whichhelptomanage supplier risk keysystemscontract managementandgrow strategic partnerships).To ensure a cohesiveco-ordinatedand sustainableapproachto supplierselectionusageandmanagementacross the GroupFlutteralsohas aGroupCategoryStrategyteamled by theLead Category StrategyManager.
The Category Strategy Teamusesa standardised frameworktoaligna business unitsSourcing and Supplierneedsenabling delivery of itslong-termstrategic goals.This approachallows Procurement to work pro-activelyenablingsustainable cost savingssupplier partnerships to be grownwithidentifiedcriticalsuppliersandpre-planning of requiredsupplierrisk mitigations
Role Overview
TheSeniorCategory Strategy Manageris a strategic role withinthis teamresponsible forusing the approved Framework toleadthe creation implementation and ongoing review/enhancement of sourcing and supplier strategiesforkeybusiness areas within anassigned brand/region.
The role involves strong partnershipswiththeSourcing Supplier Risk Supplier Management &Business and Market Intelligence teamassociated to the assigned brand/regionand close collaboration withGlobalteamsto ensure alignment ofbrandstrategies withglobal business goals and market dynamics.The ability to influence at Brand Director and LT level is critical to this role to achieve co-ordination of projects and strategies.
Leadingon categorystrategy design and developmentsavingstargetsdevelopmentand project management acrossthe assigned Brand/Region will bea vital aspect of this role.Itrequires strong influencingand organisationalskillsto gainsourcing and supplier value for the assigned brand/regionand todemonstratethe value of Procurementas a strategic business partner.
What youll do
Establish strong relationships withthe assigned brand/regionXcoand Divisional LTlevelinternalbusiness stakeholders; building a strong understanding ofthe brand/regionsstrategic business direction requirements and prioritiesandcombining that with BI tobuild categorystrategies to drive effective management of Flutters3rdparty spend.
Collaborate withbrand/regionalSourcing teams to develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategiesforkey spendcategories to achieve cost reductions supply assuranceinnovationand value creation.
Support on-going review of strategies with stakeholders andmaintainstrategy packs and socialisation of target delivery / updates with global procurement colleagues.
Partner our PBMI team to conduct market analysis supplier benchmarking and spend analysis to inform category strategies.
Drive initiatives to achievecost savings targets including leveraging economies of scale optimising sourcingchannels utilising our Sourcing tools such as Coupaand .
Align with our Supplier Management and Risk teams toidentifycritical suppliers and support strategies for risk mitigationfor local/regionalpartnerships and core suppliers forkeycategoriesfor acquisitions.
Act as a trusted advisor to SeniorFlutterBrandleaders in terms ofcategory strategyand spend management.
How youll do it
Significantexperienceof strategic sourcing/risk/suppliermanagementrole ideally withina multinational corporation.
Proven ability to capture prepare and deliverCategory Strategies toExCoand keyinternalleaders.
The ability to manage up and down the chain in a large complex organisation.
In-depthknowledge/experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category managementspend and data analyticsbench-marking RFXend to endcontractmanagement etc.).
Excellentinterpersonal and stakeholder influencing skills.
Strong experience assessingopportunityand concisely explaining complex issues tokeybusiness owners.
Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business.
Experiencedinworking in a large globalfederalorganisation.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to quicklyanalysedistiland draw conclusions onlarge amountsof disparate dataand lead a team specialising in this space.
Passionate self-starter with the highestlevel ofintegrity and ethics.
