Social Worker Assessment Team (Front Door)

• Assessment & Investigation: Complete assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 including the preparation of child impact reports (similar to Section 7 reports).
• Duty Coverage: Participate in a duty rota with the team covering duty one week in every four.
• Caseload Management: Manage a balanced and manageable caseload averaging 1620 children consistently over the past year.
• Safeguarding: Identify children at risk and deliver highquality safeguarding interventions to promote and protect their welfare.
• Partnership Working: Build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies including Police Health services and schools.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate uptodate and evidencebased records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

• Manageable Caseloads: Maintain a strong focus on ensuring practitioners have the capacity to deliver highquality effective care.
• Strong Support System: Provide guaranteed monthly onetoone supervision monthly group supervision and bimonthly service development workshops.

• Approachable Leadership: Ensure managers are accessible and proactive in providing guidance advice and support.
• Collaborative Culture: Promote strong and effective working relationships between MASH and Assessment teams.

Flexibility and Attendance:

• Office Attendance:Staff are expected to be office-based during their duty week and for two days a week when not on duty.

• Registration & Qualification: Registered with Social Work England and hold a recognised Social Work degree.
• Relevant Experience: Demonstrable experience in duty and assessment social work.
• Safeguarding Commitment: Strong passion for delivering highquality interventions and a clear commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children.
• Driving Requirement: Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car for business use; this is an Essential Car User role due to the semirural location.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and effective multiagency collaboration.
