The role sits within the FCAs Corporate Governance Division led by the Company Secretary. The Division supports the FCAs internal governance and key statutory bodies including theFCAs statutoryPanelsand senior decisionmaking committees.
Wererecruiting a Lead Associate to support the Markets Practitioner Panel (MPP) and the Listing Authority Advisory Panel (LAAP).These statutory panels provide confidential earlystage advice to the FCAon our workfrom the perspective of financial marketparticipants.More information on the Panels and their current members is available at alongside senior industry practitioners and FCA colleagues you will coordinate highquality external input from leaders acrossUK financial markets includingasset management investment banking professional servicesissuersand exchanges.This isgreatopportunityto build deep knowledge of UK financial markets and the FCAs regulatory work whileoperatingat the heart ofseniorlevelengagement and governance.
Role responsibilities
Providingprofessional secretariat supportand policyadvice forthe Markets Practitioner Panel (MPP) and Listing Authority Advisory Panel (LAAP)
Acting as a trusted adviser to Panel Chairs andproviding support toPanel members as
Building andmaintainingeffective relationships with senior FCA stakeholders andmanaging the FCAs relationship with the Panels
Planning and delivering highquality Panel meetings including agendas briefings meetingnotesand minutes
Evaluatingpolicy issues and drafting clear highquality Panel feedback for the FCA including forthe Boardand other stakeholders
Supporting Panel membershipandrecruitment activity
Coordinating with other Panel secretariats and providing ad hoc support across the wider Corporate Governance Division
Skills
Minimum:
Demonstrated stakeholder management experience with evidence of building andmaintainingeffective relationships across a range of stakeholders including senior leaders orexecutivesand shaping outcomes through clear advice and communication
Clear planning and prioritisation capability shown in a similar role by managing multiple workstreams or deadlines simultaneously balancing competing demands and delivering highquality outputs to agreed timelines
Essential:
Effective communication and collaboration skills with evidence of explaining complex issues clearly and concisely in writing and verbally and working effectively with others to reach shared goals
High standardsof delivery and attention to detaildemonstratedthrough effective management of tasks accuracy of outputs and delivery of outcomes to agreed deadlines
Willingness and commitment shown by responding positively and flexibly to changing priorities newchallengesor evolving stakeholder needs
Commitment to continuous improvement with examples of constructively challenging ideasprocessesor ways of working to support better decisionmaking or outcomes
Experience supporting seniorlevel governance or formal meetings such as boards committees or advisory groups including agenda managementpapersand followup actions
Understanding of financial services and regulation gained through industry regulatory or policy roles including awareness of the FCAsobjectives and the impact of regulation on consumersfirmsand markets
