The Role
Were seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Java) to join our Technology & Engineering team. Youll bring expertise in building robust scalable cloud-native applications using Java Spring Boot Python and GCP. Working on high-impact platforms for Tier 1 financial institutions youll lead backend design champion agile best practices and contribute to the evolution of modern banking technology.

What Youll Do

• Design build deploy and operate microservices-based data controls using Java 11 and Spring Boot
• Deliver enterprise-ready cloud solutions with a focus on GCP infrastructure and services
• Build and manage robust CI/CD pipelines and ensure secure scalable deployments
• Write comprehensive tests and implement quality-driven development across the stack
• Collaborate in agile teams and contribute to design decisions troubleshooting and continuous improvement

What Were Looking For

• Expert-level Java development (Java 11 17 21) Spring Boot proficiency
• Proficient level of Python scripting for operational efficiencies
• Deep knowledge of public cloud environments preferably GCP
• Experience designing cloud-native microservices and event-driven architectures
• Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins) SQL/NoSQL databases Kafka and Java Streaming
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. CloudFormation) distributed systems and secure design practices
• Experience using enterprise data platforms (eg Atacamma Colibra Informatica)

Bonus Points For

• GCP certificates (Associate or Professional)
• Knowledge of CQRS patterns and performance testing strategies
• Passion for exploring emerging cloud technologies and frameworks
• Experience delivering customer-facing or business-critical applications in finance and operate them in production on a you build it you run it operating model
