Could you be the full/part-time Suspension Engineer (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf were looking for

Your Future Role

2100 colleagues from 46 countries including 800 engineers shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed manufactured and maintained product range includes high-speed regional and local trains subways as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. Youll report to Johannes Picht and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

Well look for you to :

  • Develop suspension components and systems in close collaboration with the respective suppliers and Alstom internal departments

  • Follow the suspension components throughout the product cycle (R&D concept development tender project and warranty phase) with:

  • Pre-definition / dimensioning

  • Detailed design (in-house and with suppliers)

  • Creation of technical documents (specification test procedures clause-by-clause)

  • Component validation / testing

  • Train homologation and on-track testing

  • Warranty & Services

  • Support service activities and resolution of field issues with technical expertise

  • Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of suspension design guidelines and tools

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering (ETH/TU/FH) or equivalent

  • Fluent English; German and/or French a plus

  • Academic experience with FEA and 3D CAD

  • Nice-to-have: experience with rubber-like materials

  • Nice-to-have: programming knowledge (Python VBA Matlab)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems statics and dynamics

  • Solid knowledge of finite element analysis

  • Ability to manage diverse topics across multiple projects

  • Motivation to work in an international multicultural expert team

  • Proactive self-driven work style with increasing independence after onboarding
