Senior Linux Administrator

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Install configure and maintain Linux servers and systems across production and development environments.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure.
• Perform system upgrades patching and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system network and application issues.
• Manage user access permissions and system security policies.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g. Bash Python).
• Collaborate with DevOps network and security teams to optimize infrastructure.
• Implement backup disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Maintain system documentation procedures and configurations.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 58 years of experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong experience with major Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat CentOS Ubuntu).
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP firewalls).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware KVM etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible Puppet or Chef) is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA RHCE or equivalent.
• Experience in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
