What impact youll make:
As a Lead Engineer in Aero-Thermal Design team you will be responsible to independently execute Aerodynamics steady/unsteady aerodynamics analysis & design and build design expertise while executing NPI/NTI/research projects for GE Vernova heavy duty gas turbine and steam turbine products. You will also be responsible for building analysis models in-depth interpretation of analysis results and preparation for design reviews with clear conclusions and recommendations. You are also expected to collaborate with cross functional global teams to execute and deliver the high-quality results on time and implement LEAN principal in daily work.

What youll do:
The primary responsibilities of Lead Engineer will be:
- Independently execute Aerodynamic steady and unsteady analysis of flange-to-flange stationary & rotating components for various gas turbine and steam turbines using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards design practices procedures and product requirement.
- Develop update and independently own Steam Turbine inlet and exit system aerodynamic analysis and design improvement to meet product performance.
- Participate and own gas turbine and steam turbine RCAs filed issues related to aerodynamic design
- Own GT diffuser exhaust profile PLM deliverable and ensure timely release of engineering drawing to customers
- Identify opportunities for process improvements by leveraging LEAN principles in daily work and contribute to productivity improvements. Practice and improve standard work and participate in design template development.
- Leverage available expertise in the team and collaborate with CTHs to deliver Quality results with minimum rework and quality misses.
- Own & execute new product introduction (NPI) and new technology introduction (NTI) design tasks with minimum oversight. Lead and participate in identifying & executing conceptual preliminary & detailed design analysis
- Independently interpret the analysis results & participate in innovation to suggest and generate the ideas to improve the design and analysis methodology. Get approval of analysis results in consultation with engineering teams.
- Continue to build depth in technical discipline of aerodynamic design for Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine components. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute design and analysis with minimum oversight and sense of urgency.
- Uses good level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters with minimum guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks with detailed understanding of underline physics.
- Collaborate & deliver with global mechanical thermal/HT performance and clearance teams during tollgate design process to achieve timely and accurate design solutions through collaboration.
- Independently document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering design templates and design practices. Complete documentation & model management for assigned project.
What youll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- M. Tech. / M.E. in mechanical engineering with specialization in Aerodynamics/Thermal Science/Thermal & Fluid Engineering with excellent academic records
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerodynamics analysis & design of any turbo machinery or Gas Turbine or Steam Turbine
- Experience with CFX ICEMCFD Fluent TACOMA ANSYS etc.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent analytical and project management skills.
- Must be able to work well in a global matrix organization.
