Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead our APEASY engineering team. You will manage a team of 10-15 engineers architects and QA professionals drive technical excellence while delivering business value through high-quality software solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management and strategic planning.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Software Engineers (various levels)
Software Architects
Test/QA Engineers
Technical Writer(s)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead mentor and grow a diverse team of 10-15 software professionals
Manage all personnel activities including hiring onboarding training performance reviews and career development
Foster a culture of continuous improvement innovation and technical excellence
Build and maintain high-performing collaborative teams
Technical Leadership:
Establish and enforce development standards best practices and architecture guidelines
Conduct and facilitate code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing
Maintain deep technical understanding of applications and systems under your purview
Make informed decisions on technology stack tools and architectural approaches
Balance technical debt with feature delivery
Product Delivery:
Partner with Product Management to ensure on-time high-quality releases
Drive execution of sprint commitments and quarterly objectives
Implement processes and tools that meet business and customer requirements
Track and report on team metrics velocity and delivery health
Ensure sustainable pace and realistic commitments
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience
5 years of professional software development experience
3 years leading engineering teams (5-15 people)
3 years of hands-on Java development experience
2 years working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
Experience with full SDLC CI/CD and DevOps practices
Proven track record of hiring and developing engineering talent
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred:
Groovy on Grails experience
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
Scrum Master or similar Agile certifications
Experience with microservices architecture
Background in US healthcare product development (HIPAA)
Management or leadership training/certification
