Application Support Engineer- CBP
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer with hands-on experience in Ciena Blue Planet to support OSS applications within the ASG (Application Services Group). The role involves monitoring troubleshooting and maintaining Blue Planet-based platforms ensuring high availability and performance in a production environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide L2/L3 production support for Ciena Blue Planet applications. Monitor system performance identify issues and ensure timely resolution. Perform incident problem and change management in line with ITIL processes. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions. Support application deployments upgrades and patching activities. Work closely with development and vendor teams for issue resolution. Troubleshoot API integrations workflows and orchestration issues. Maintain support documentation SOPs and knowledge base articles. Ensure adherence to SLAs KPIs and operational standards. Required Skills: Hands-on experience with Ciena Blue Planet (Inventory Orchestration or MDSO modules). Strong knowledge of OSS/BSS systems and telecom domain. Experience in Java / J2EE-based applications. Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs and integration troubleshooting. Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems. Database knowledge (Oracle / SQL) with troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with ticketing tools like ServiceNow. Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk ELK AppDynamics). Preferred Skills: Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Exposure to network inventory and service orchestration concepts. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins Git). Basic scripting (Shell/Python).
