Bridge Engineer

Job Description

Your role

• Designing checking and assessment of bridges and other railway structures as per Network Rail Standards Eurocodes and AASHTO.
• Deliver projects in accordance with quality timescales and budget.
• Ensure technical competencies are kept up to date.
• Apply Atkins Quality Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
• Contribute in a team of engineers and CAD technicians working on design and assessment of bridges as per Network Rail Standard and Eurocodes.
• Liaison and interact with the UK businesses.
• Originate design and assessment calculations and reviewing detailed drawings & 3D model.
• Deliver project in accordance with to quality timescales and budget.
• Play a major role in the development of technical skills of the team.
• Raise the profile of the organisation by publishing technical papers and making technical presentations at seminars and conferences.
• Ensure technical competencies of self and team are kept up to date.

About you

• Experience in bridge engineering software such as LUSAS SAM-LEAP RM-Bridge MIDAS/Civil.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation Revit.
• Exposure to international codes of practice.
• Competency in writing technical reports and making presentations.
• Master degree/Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an institute of repute.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in bridge design.
• Experience in structural engineering software and MS-Office.
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues seniors team members and clients.
• Ability to understand explain present and solve technical problems.
