Job Title: MEP Buyer / Procurement Engineer
Job Summary:
The MEP Buyer is responsible for sourcing negotiating and purchasing
materials and services related to Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing systems.
The role ensures the timely availability of materials at competitive prices while
maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities ( but not limited to):
Procure MEP materials such as HVAC equipment electrical items
plumbing fixtures and fire-fighting systems.
Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) based on project
requirements.
Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors for cost quality and delivery
performance.
Negotiate pricing payment terms and delivery schedules.
Coordinate with project design and site teams to understand material
requirements.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery to site.
Verify invoices delivery notes and material specifications.
Maintain proper documentation of procurement activities.
Monitor market trends and price fluctuations of MEP materials.
Ensure compliance with company policies and project specifications.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of MEP materials and systems.
Negotiation and vendor management skills.
Good understanding of BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and technical
specifications.
Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Attention to detail and cost control mindset.
Ready to travel
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field).
3–5 years of experience in MEP procurement or construction industry.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in construction real estate or industrial projects.
Familiarity with tendering and contract management.
KPIs / Performance Metrics:
Cost savings achieved
On-time delivery of materials
Vendor performance
Accuracy in PO and documentation
Inventory optimization
Rate card
Preferred Languages:
Proficiency in English and Hindi (preferred for effective coordination
with vendors and site teams).
