Job Summary
Title of Position:
Summer Registered Nurse/LPN
3 positions available (Goodnow Whitcomb and MHS)
Work Year:
Summer 2026
Effective Date of Employment:
July 6 2026 - July 31 2026 (Monday - Friday all weeks)
Location/Hours:
- Goodnow: 8:15am - 1:45pm
- Whitcomb: 7:45am - 1:15pm
- MHS: 7:45am - 1:15pm
Compensation:
$250 per day $35 per hour for on-site time over 6 hours in a day.
Organizational Relationship:
Summer Building Administrator and Supervisor of Nursing.
Statement of Duties:
- Promote and maintain optimal physical and emotional health of students.
- Provide first aid and emergency care in injury or illness to school population as documented.
- Notify parents of illness and accidents which occur during school hours and fill out appropriate accidents form.
- Contribute positively to maintaining safety in the school.
- Keep daily log of students seen in health room.
- Maintain health records and document pertinent information.
- Supervise and administer prescribed medication and treatment during school hours
- Inform teachers and staff regarding medical issues that may affect them.
- Act as a health resource person have knowledge of community resources and appropriate referrals.
- Maintain Health Room and assigned equipment and supplies.
- Nurse may be assigned to duties as directed by the Supervisor of Health Services.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must possess a current valid Registered Nurse License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
