The Equipment Operator supports maintenance and project activities at the Olin McIntosh facility by safely operating a variety of small to large industrial equipment. This role is critical to material handling equipment placement and supporting craft personnel while maintaining strict safety and operational standards in a chemical manufacturing environment. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate small to large industrial equipment including heavy industrial forklifts telehandlers (lulls) aerial lifts (boom and scissor lifts) and select dirt equipment such as backhoes and track hoes.
- Support maintenance and project crews with material handling equipment positioning and site logistics.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.
- Follow all facility OSHA and site-specific safety requirements at all times.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and hazards in an active chemical facility.
- Communicate effectively with supervision and craft personnel.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support site operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating industrial equipment.
- Experience operating forklifts telehandlers aerial lifts and light earthâmoving equipment required.
- NCCER certification preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Valid drivers license required.
- TWIC card required (receipt accepted).
- Must be able to pass site orientation and required safety training.
