Overview

Green Energy Consumers Alliance is a non-profit organization that enables people to make green energy choices in the most cost-effective practical and seamless ways possible and to advocate for energy policies thatbenefitthe greater good.Weoperatein Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

One of our focus areas is the transportation sector which accounts for the largestportionof greenhouse gas emissionsin both our states. We address this sector through Drive Green our educational program about electric vehicles(EVs). This year we have several projects targeting specific audiencesto provide educational resources and support todrivers looking to make the switch. We are looking for a co-op studentwhosinterested in clean energy to help us build partnerships

organize and hostevents andprovide other support.

Responsibilities

  • Stayup-to-dateon the EV market technology developments and incentives;
  • Reach out to community stakeholders across Massachusetts by phone and email to help build new and existing partnerships;
  • Help plan communityEVevents such as workshops tabling events static EV showcases and ride & drives;
  • Attend eventsacross Massachusetts and Rhode Islandand shareaccurateand completeinformation about EVs with attendees includinginformation about vehicle models charging and incentives;
  • Help with marketing events and programs including distributing social media content to partners and occasional travel (mileage reimbursed) to put up fliers in target communities;
  • Reach out directly to fleet stakeholders to share information about EVs in general and incentive programs specifically;
  • Researchdata entry and otherprojects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Clear interest in and/or experience with clean energyclimate mitigation and/or transportationparticularly EVs;
  • Clear interest in and/or experience with community outreach and events planning/attendance;
  • An understanding and familiarity with Massachusetts and Rhode Islandcommunities;
  • Strong written and verbal communication organization and attention todetail;
  • Ability to manage different workstreams andtimelines;
  • Curiosity openness and eagerness to learn;
  • A valid drivers license;
  • Desired:Fluency in Spanish Portuguese Haitian Creole or Mandarin.

Compensation & Benefits

This six-month 37.5hr/week co-op position will be conducted in a hybrid fashion working both remotely and at least one day a week from our office in Cambridge MA office. The position will start on or after July 1 2026 and end by December31 2026.The position entails occasional nights and weekends foreventsattendance. The pay is$23.00/hr.


Co-op students receive the following benefits:Co-ops willaccrue12.5 hours of vacation time per month worked as well as 1 hour of sick time perevery 30hours worked. We also provide a laptop for the duration of the internship.
