Position Overview
Broome High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Athletic Director to lead and manage all aspects of its interscholastic athletic program. The Athletic Director will promote a culture of excellence sportsmanship and integrity while ensuring compliance with all district and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Teaching certification with minimum of 5 years teaching/coaching (required)
- Valid SC Principal Licensure (preferred)
- Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certification/training (preferred)
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of interscholastic athletics and governing regulations
- Experience as an AD is preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all athletic programs and activities
- Hire supervise and evaluate coaching staff
- Ensure compliance with all applicable rules policies and eligibility requirements
- Oversee scheduling transportation strength/conditioning program and supervision of athletic events
- Manage the athletic department budget equipment and facilities
- Promote academic success safety and character development of student-athletes
- Coordinate communication with students families staff and community stakeholders
- Support and collaborate with booster clubs and community partners
- Managing/overseeing the secure chain of custody of all athletic events of money
Additional Expectations
- Evening and weekend availability required (depending on sports season)
- Visible presence at school and athletic events
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic culture
- Assisting with supervision during school hours
