Data Analyst
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities of the supplier resource:
Data Governance & Quality
- Ensure vendor and internal data meet MSCIs rigorous data standards for accuracy consistency and compliance with governance frameworks.
- Define and implement processes for resolving data quality issues such as duplication inaccuracies and missing values.
- Oversee the development of benchmarks and validation rules to support index production and other new product development.
Data Onboarding & Operations
- Manage onboarding of large-scale datasets from external vendors and internal sources ensuring seamless integration into MSCI systems.
- Conduct vendor due diligence and maintain trusted relationships with data providers.
- Collaborate with product and index teams to assess the impact of corporate actions and market events on benchmark indexes.
Innovation & AI in Data
- Leverage AI techniques (e.g. ChatGPT machine learning) to enhance data analysis validation and automation capabilities.
- Explore and implement emerging technologies to strengthen MSCIs data ecosystem.
Skills and experience that is expected from the supplier resource:
2years in data governance data operations or financial index production with exposure to fixed income and equity markets.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python SQL and Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with AI/ML tools and their application in data quality improvement will be a plus.
Domain Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of index construction securities data and financial products.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg Reuters and market data systems.
Soft Skills:Excellent communication stakeholder management and project management skills.
Languages:English (fluent); additional regional languages a plus.
Education:MBA (Finance/Business/Statistics/Equivalent); CFA or advanced certifications a plus.
