Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work extensively with computer data entry and word processing
  • Ability to relate well with staff parents and community members
  • Ability to operate office machines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Skilled in bookkeeping tasks
  • Knowledge ofstudent database system


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs clerical duties in the preparation of truancy affidavits as required by K.S.A. 72-1111 and 72-1113 and USD 501 Regulation 8075.
  • Performs office routines and practices associated with a busy productive and smooth running environment; including telephone typing/word processing maintaining filing system preparing mailings.
  • Will work with confidential records schedule appointments with parents and staff maintain calendar set-up meetings collect research information and perform varied and related office duties.


SPECIFIC DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Identifying students with attendance issues and intervene with poor attendance behavior prior to violation of Kansas Laws and school district regulations.
  • Work with parents of students who exhibit poor attendance to identify a method to help the student remain in school.
  • Work with school administrators teachers and staff to correct poor attendance and truancy issues.
  • Prepare truancy affidavits and keep accurate up-to-date data in student database.
  • Frequent student home visits with campus police or other school staff.
  • Maintain track and distribute metro bus passes.
  • Assist with student transport when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Terms of Empoyment:

9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel
