Job Summary
Nemours Childrens Health is seeking a Medical Assistant III to join our Cardiology team in Lakeland Florida.
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports the daily clinical operations of the Lakeland Cardiology clinic by providing highlevel clinical and administrative assistance to providers patients and the care team. This role requires strong clinical competency excellent communication skills and the ability to perform specialized cardiologyrelated tasks such as EKGs. Occasional travel to nearby clinics may be required to support operational needs.
Position Overview
The MA is an important liaison between the patient/family provider and other care team members. The MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.
Requirements:
- Requires 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Advanced clinical and administrative skills.
- MA Certification required (see below) and MA school preferred.
- Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date.
- Involvement in quality improvement initiatives and advanced patient care.
- Travel to other locations may be required.
