Quality Manager | Manufacturing | Fabrication Environment

Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Manager who lives on the shop floor and knows how to lead people solve problems and prevent defects in a fabrication driven manufacturing environment.
This role owns product quality across fabrication assembly and glazing operations. You will lead a team of 5 to 8 Quality Techs and Inspectors and work side by side with Operations Engineering and Plant Leadership to ensure every component meets drawing dimensional and aesthetic requirements before it leaves the facility.
If you have worked in construction related manufacturing automotive aerospace metals glass or another precision fabrication environment this role will feel very familiar.
What you will own
- Overall site quality performance across fabrication and assembly
- Leadership and daily direction of Quality Techs and Inspectors
- Reducing rework scrap and nonconformances through strong process control
- Ensuring compliance to drawings tolerances finishes and customer specifications
- Acting as the primary quality partner to Operations Engineering and the Field
- Managing and sustaining the site Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan
- Leading quality metrics audits and continuous improvement activity on the floor
- Supporting project launch by translating drawings and specifications into clear quality expectations
- Participating in customer and consultant inspections and quality reviews
What makes someone successful here
- You have led people in a manufacturing quality environment not just performed inspections
- You are confident reading engineering drawings and understand GD&T
- You have strong knowledge of mechanical inspection methods tolerances and finishes
- You come from a fabrication heavy environment where precision matters
- You are used to being the person Operations calls when there is a quality issue
- You have worked within ISO 9001 or a structured QMS
- You have used Lean Six Sigma A3 or similar tools to solve repeat issues
- You can use data such as First Pass Yield defect trends and control charts to drive action
Background we are looking for
- 5 or more years in manufacturing quality
- 2 or more years leading or supervising quality teams of multiple inspectors or techs
- Experience in construction related manufacturing automotive aerospace metals glass or engineer to order environments
- Degree in Engineering or Quality is helpful but practical experience is equally valued
