Job Description:
At Regions the Loan Servicing REO Repair Specialist determines the extent of required repairs to real estate owned (REO) and the subsequent coordination of renovations with contractors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees the quality and timeliness of repairs to ensure compliance with Regions policies and goals
- Files eviction proceedings and routinely performs follow-ups on the eviction process to ensure timely evictions with minimal delays and cost
- Selects monitors and evaluates contractors for renovating assigned properties
- Writes comprehensive repair assessments
- Audits contractors repair estimates for comprehensiveness of renovations to be performed and competitiveness of prices
- Prepares repair analysis worksheet and submits to REO committee with recommendation
- Reviews and approves closing settlement statements and other select closing documents
- Performs quality control inspections on assigned properties and ensures that any deficiencies discovered are corrected quickly and appropriately
- Works to resolve title issues
- Ensures compliance with risk management programs rules and regulations and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
Applicants will be expected to pass any assessment associated with the position
Preferences
- Bachelors degree
- Two (2) years of real estate construction or mortgage lending experience
- General knowledge of construction techniques practices and customs
- General understanding of contract law real estate law real estate transactions mortgage lending practices and types of property ownership
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules regulations and industry guidance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good analytical organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidates qualifications and relevant experience.
