Job Summary

The program will be primarily project-based work and day-to-day shadowing/mentorship. The Interns will fill their weeks shadowing core members of the team to learn how their department functions and supports Peets business while focusing efforts on completing their project. The day-to-day activities will vary depending on which department you will support.

Weanticipateoffering a variety of engagement activities including but not limited to: Roasting Plant Tour Coffee Tasting Tea 101 Career Coaching and Coffee Chat with Stuart Heflin our President. These engagement activities are set to occur every other week. Based in Peets Home Office in Emeryville CA- we require all employees to work onsite 3 days per week. This is a paid internship at $25.00/hrand will require a 24hours/week commitment from June 8-August 7 2026.

What You Will Do:

As aCPG Innovation & Insights Internat Peets Coffee you willhelpidentifynew product ideas that could appeal to younger consumers and support future growth.

Youllexplore food and beverage trends analyze consumerbehaviorand market data and translate your findings into new product ideas- evaluating and recommending the ones most worth pursuing.Youllalsohave the opportunity toengage directly with customers in café environments to better understand their needs preferences and behaviors.

Innovation is a key driver of the companys growth and this role is designed to build your skills in innovation consumer insights and strategic thinking while giving you hands-on experience working onreal businessquestions.

Conduct in-store visits and competitive analysis toidentifyemerging food and beverage trends

Conduct consumer and trend research using a mix of traditional methods and AI-enabled tools to gather synthesize and analyze insights

Analyze market data to assess the size attractiveness and strategic fit of innovation opportunities

Build a strong understanding of Peets brand portfolio and innovation approach

Synthesize your learnings into clear recommendations on the top ideas we should pursue

Who You Are (Qualifications and Skills):

Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related field (e.g. Business Economics Social Sciences or Psychology)

Enrolled as a full time or part-time student at a California University/College

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with comfort working with data and research

Able to synthesize information and communicate clear structured ideas (written and verbal)

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Naturally curious about how and why people choose products with an interest in understanding consumer behavior

Interested in emerging food and beverage trends

Open to feedback and eager to learn
