Job Summary
Purpose of Role
To ensure complete guest satisfaction by providing an excellent standard of food in a competent and professional Chefs must always strive to obtain maximum efficiency and promote teamwork within and outside of the department.
Commis Chefs will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous safe and efficient manner in accordance with the hotels policies and procedures ensuring that a high level of service is maintained.
Responsibly Description
- Knowledge of individual menu items including basic ingredients methods of preparation and presentation style.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
- Gain basic knowledge of all venues in the hotel.
- Responsible for mise en place.
- Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.
- Set up section as required by Sous Chef and to be checked by Sous Chef before service.
- Be responsible for minimising food wastage.
- Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.
- Personal appearance is an important requirement. Grooming for food & beverage attendants should be goal is to present a healthy professional and natural appearance in both wardrobe and personal appearance.
- Be punctual efficient and above all courteous. Assume at all times a pleasing and helpful attitude towards our internal guests. Never speak in a loud voice to other talent.
- Serve all food in a friendly and professional manner.
- Be proactively involved in the hotels operation and keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.
- Complete time sheet at the conclusion of each shift according to standard and procedures ensuring accurate reflection of hours worked and compliance with Taiwans labour legislation.
- Anticipate guest needs through observation and offer prompt efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other talent.
- Uphold the Marriott International Cares culture by demonstrating the Star Service Standards at all times to guests and fellow talent.
- Personally ensure compliance with all relevant workplace and occupational health & safety rules; and related W Taipei and Marriott International policies.
- Align management style working practices and conduct with W Taipei Vision Values and policies. To comply with Marriott Internationals Code of Conduct at all times.
- Be well versed and knowledgeable of W Taipeis Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace. Ensure talent are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity.
- Assist the Chef in the performance of his/her role.
- Undertake any additional duties as requested by your Supervisor Executive Chef or Hotel Management.
- Follow food safety program.
