Job Description:

Based in UPS Barcelona the BaSE supervisor will be responsible of 12 UPS sorting facilities on the west part of Spain.

The BaSE maintenance supervisor supports the protection of UPS assets and facilities. They assist with the maintaining of and continued improvement of UPS conveyor systems. He / she troubleshoots calibrates analyses and adjusts conventional Systems as necessary to maintain optimal performance of Plant Floor Equipment. He / she Responds to sort calls and breakdowns and expedites their completion. Proactively identifies equipment or human interface that is the cause of system defects. The BaSE supervisor plays a key role in UPS in ensuring the sort process is a continuous non-interrupted process that allows parcels to be sorted effectively and efficiently ensuring service to the customers in an optimal way.

The BaSE maintenance suppervisor supports the protection of UPS assets and facilities. He/ She performs necessary building maintenance or repairs based on BaSE assest protection audits and local regulations.

He/She support building management with operational needs Union requests and local authorities feedback. The BaSE maintenance supervisor plays a key role in the building appearance asset protection and cost efficiency of the building maintenance

The BaSE maintenance supervisor supports the compliance of the UPS assets and facilities. He/She applies UPS and local regulations in each facility of this area of responsibilities. He/She tracks the compliance by performing RCR self-audits. He/She plays a key role in the safety and compliance of UPS facilities

The BaSE maintenance supervisor support building and conveyor efficiency. He/She performs feasibility studies following RCR audits equipment needs or Operational requests. He/She also executes small projects as per CAPEX validation. The BaSE maintenance supervisor plays a key role in UPS operation efficiency by performing technical studies and executing building/conveyor modification.

He/She is managing the budget and the cost effectiveness of BaSE activities performed in his/her area. This position will combine the individuals technical knowledge (electrical and mechanical) and analytical skills to support Sortation System. Building technical knowledge is requested. This position also request working hour flexibility in order to support conveyor effectiveness and communication skills in order to

maintain team work with site management and supports departments.

Main responsibilities

Management

  • Ensuring all conveyor equipment is in optimal and safe working condition for the operators to eliminate or minimize chances of injuries or production loss.
  • Execution of short mid and long term maintenance and repair plan
  • Conveyor Systems (Electro-Mechanical)
  • Dimensioning Weighing Systems
  • Scanning Systems
  • X-Ray equipment
  • Buildings Systems (HVAC Lighting Electrical systems Doors)
  • Regular check of all equipment to ensure functionality and safety
  • Assess and Control performances of outside vendors
  • Support in the implementation of methods to decrease the energy consumption
  • Support in- and supervision of local Housekeeping and Waste management Activities.
  • Support in optimization of the processes
  • Perform assets protection audits
  • Attendance of department and building meetings on request (FCR BRM department meetings)
  • Performs technical feasibilities studies
  • Execute small BaSE projects

2. Administration

  • Management spare part stock (>1.000 pieces)
  • Administration of PMI (Preventive Maintenance Intervention) and any repair works conducted on conventional conveyor equipment.
  • Cost Control & Recordkeeping
  • Responding to email and written requests

3. Compliance

  • Support in ensuring UPS buildings and installations are in compliance to UPS European & Country Regulations.(Guarding electrical checks fire regulation)
  • Perform compliance audits (Facility Safety & Environmental) of the conveyor systems and buildings and complete the Corrective Action Plans.
  • Understanding the laws and restrictions
  • Address authority requests by sharing BaSE feedback and execute works if necessary
  • Address union requests by sharing BaSE feedback and execute works if necessary

What do we expect from you

  • Technical degree in electrical engineering
  • Electrical and electronics knowledge
  • Knowledge of conventional conveyor systems is a plus
  • Able to read interpret and troubleshoot by using electrical drawings
  • Able to work under high pressure; if a conveyor is down during the sort process
  • Able to evaluate & make correct decisions independently and in a team.
  • Understanding & responding to operational needs & changes.
  • Flexible to work additional hours and change working hours if needed
  • Ability to self-manage the works assigned and execute with a high level of detail
  • Excellent computer skills; able to work effectively using Windows Microsoft Office Coupa
  • Language skills: Able to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish
  • Capable of following guidelines from his management
  • Has a driving license
  • Able to travel in multiple locations
