Basic Job Functions:
The Mechanical Engineer will lead improvement efforts by partnering with production and maintenance teams to identify opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop effective solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of projects from design through implementation including completion of as-built drawings.
Candidates must be willing to support scheduled and unscheduled overtime including weekends and holidays as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering
- Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD software
- Experience designing fabricating and installing mechanical equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Understanding of lubrication practices and fluid pumping systems
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
