The Role
ℹ This is a 12-month fixed-term employment contract.
Location: While this position is posted in a specific location all of Oysters positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire this role requires you to be based within 3 / -4 UTC.
Oyster is growing fast and we are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to drive day-to-day accounting operations monthly reporting and ERP processes.
In this role youll strengthen our finance function ensure accurate financial reporting and help scale efficient accounting practices across a dynamic global organization. Youll work closely with finance operations and business teams to streamline processes provide actionable insights and contribute to Oysters growth.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
Support PBC schedules for the annual group audit and assist with tax filings.
Analyze financial data identify trends and provide clear insights to support business decisions.
Develop implement and maintain accounting policies controls and process improvements.
Optimize month-end and year-end close processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on ad hoc projects reporting and financial analysis.
Identify and implement automation opportunities across accounting workflows (e.g. reconciliations reporting close processes) leveraging ERP systems and tools.
Core Requirements
5 years of accounting experience with at least 1 year in a Senior Accountant role with ownership of key processes.
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables XLOOKUPs formulas) and comfort with data analysis.
Experience in a software/SaaS environment.
Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth fast-paced scale-up environment.
High attention to detail strong logical thinking and a problem-solving mindset.
Proactive process-oriented and enthusiastic about leveraging systems and automation to improve workflows.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive initiatives independently.
Bonus points
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite SAP or similar including workflow configuration and reporting.
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail Docs Sheets).
Exposure to multi-currency accounting intercompany reconciliations or international tax compliance.
Youll also need
A reliable home internet connection (or be able to get one).
Fluent English language skills.
